Meet the Team
Veterinarian

Dr. John Mark Russell, DVM
Undeniably, Dr. John Mark Russell loves being a vet. His passion is evidence of it.
Dr. Russell graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. While at Auburn he was active in the Christian Veterinary Fellowship and Alpha Psi veterinary fraternity. Dr. John Mark Russell has advanced training in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery as well as a strong interest in internal medicine.
Prior to starting Towne Park Animal Care Center he worked as an associate veterinarian at Whitesburg Animal Hospital, as well as practicing Atlanta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee.
“My favorite thing with any experience as a veterinarian is the relationships formed with clients throughout their pet’s life.”

Dr. Jess Mauldin, DVM
Dr. Mauldin is from Birmingham, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate degree at Birmingham-Southern College, where she was a student-athlete and worked part-time at a local veterinary hospital. Four years later, she graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and quickly fell in love with Huntsville! Within six months of graduating, she moved to Huntsville, married her wonderful husband, and started working at Towne Park Animal Care Center. Currently, she has a Golden Retriever named Roy (from Ted Lasso) and a gray tabby named Romulus (from Succession). Her special interests include ocular diseases, soft tissue surgery, and endocrine disease management. Outside of work, you’ll find her trying out new restaurants, listening to true crime podcasts, or watching Auburn sports with cautious optimism.

Dr. Erin Brown, DVM
Dr. Brown is a Huntsville native, and thrilled to continue to serve our community as a veterinarian. She graduated from the University of Alabama- Huntsville with a degree in Biology and Chemistry, then later went on to obtain a degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 2010. She has worked in general practice, as well as emergency and critical care. When not cuddling with her patients, she loves being with her husband and two active kiddos! She has too many animals to list individually, but gives them all a shout out! You will generally find her at a soccer field, hockey rink, volleyball game, or reading a book (when time allows).
"My passion is making clients experience positive through education, compassion, and laughter."
Practice Manager

Brooke
Manager
Brooke has been in the veterinary field since 2012. She started off by being a Kennel Assistant, Vet Assistant, then all the way up to working the front desk. As a strong advocate for both the patients and their parents she was a natural fit as Practice Manager. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon, and their sons, Colton and Hunter. They have 2 fur children as well; Chewy, and Ada. Her hobbies include finding new outdoor trail adventures with the pups, spending time on the river with friends and family, and true crime documentaries/ podcasts.
Staff

Eva, Resident Clinic Cat
Cheif of Purr-scriptions, Professional Napper, Supervisor of All Things Important
Eva has been with us since we first opened in 2023. Upon her arrival, she jumped on the front desk and decided we were her staff and her "furrrever" home. Since then she has clawed her way up the ranks to become the unofficial boss of the hospital (don't tell Dr. Russell).
Her daily duties include:
- Quality control of the treat inventory, mostly by taste-testing (don't ask her to get on a scale..she's a lady)
- Providing emotional support to all staff whether they want it or not.
- Napping in our cat suites and judging everyone's lunch choices
She may not have a veterinary license, but don't worry-she's an expert in cattitude therapy and unsolicited headbutts. Stop by and you'll likely see her reminding us all who really runs the place. Fun fact, she has never paid rent, but somehow has the biggest office.

Julia
Receptionist
Julia was born and raised an hour outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in an area nicknamed “Amish Country”. She and her husband have since lived in Georgia, Illinois, and Wisconsin. In late 2019, they chose to move to Huntsville with their two children to get away from the cold Northern winters. When she is not at work, she can typically be found at a baseball or softball field watching her kids play. She enjoys reading, and dreams of moving to the beach someday. Julia has been in the veterinary field since 2012, and quickly discovered her passion for animals. She currently has a small zoo at home, 5 cats and 2 dogs (an Aussie mix and a Great Dane).

Anai
Receptionist/Veterinarian Assistant

Beth
Receptionist
Beth joined our team in October 2025, as one of the friendly faces that greet our clients. She brings warmth, compassion, and a genuine passion for helping both pets and their people feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door. Basset Hounds hold a special place in her heart—especially her own beloved Basset, Willa, who keeps life extra joyful. Outside of the clinic, Beth enjoys getting lost in a good book, savoring great food, and spending meaningful time with friends and family. Her caring nature and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of our team, and she’s always happy to help make your visit a positive one.

Caitlyn, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Caitlyn has been in the veterinary field for 7 years as a Licensed Veterinarian Technician. During her time away from work she enjoys spending quality family time with her 2 human children, as well as their 2 dogs, Ellie and Chicken Rat. Her favorite thing to do at Towne Park is dental care! From dental cleanings, to full mouth dental radiographs, and the satisfactory feeling of sending patients home with brand new pearly whites to show off to their family members, who in return greatly appreciate the fresh breath.

Tara
Veterinary Assistant
Tara moved to Alabama from South Carolina in 2021 with her husband and their 12 dogs. She currently is furthering her education in the veterinary field by being enrolled in the Licensed Veterinarian Technician Program at Penn Foster College. In her spare time she loves to lounge with her 12 couch potatoes and husband while watching western shows.

Mary
Veterinary Assistant
Mary joined our team in April 2025. She was born in Knoxville, Tennesee but has lived in Madison since she was 6 years old. She has 2 dogs (Winston & Opal), and 3 cats (Binx, Casper, and Gremlin). In her free time she loves reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite thing about her job is helping give comfort to her patients, and making their owners feel at ease knowing they are in good hands.

Jennie
Daycare/ Kennel Technician
Jennie joined our team in November 2024. She is from Clanton, Alabama and is currently enrolled at Penn Foster to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. In her spare time she is a soccer mom that loves going to her kids games, watching hockey, and reading. Her favorite part about working at Towne Park is seeing all of our patients personalities and getting to interact with them. Her future goal is to continue more schooling and eventually work with farm animals.

Lexys
Daycare/ Kennel Technician
Lexys was born in El Paso, Texas but raised right here in Huntsville. She’s always had a passion for caring for animals. Since starting her journey at Towne Park, her love for animal care has only grown and inspired her to do even more. Lexys favorite part of her job is bath time—she loves getting to pamper each pet and give them a little extra TLC (and fun!). When she’s not at work, you can usually find her snuggling with her two cats, Kiwi and China.
